Zachary

Zac is my little brother. He's 12 years old and has a mild case of Aspergers Syndrome. Today he and I were doing homework and eating cereal. He was eating Lucky Charms and I was eating Fruit Loops. I was in the middle of a sentence when he took a marshmallow out of his bowl, licked it, then stuck it on my face. When I looked at him after he did this, he sat there with a huge smile on his face and he said "Yes sissy, I just did that."

He didn't know that he just started a war. I grabbed some marshmallows out of his bowl, licked them, and stuck them under his eyes. After about 5 mins, our whole faces were covered and we both sat there and laughed at each other. Then, Zac looked over at me as I was picking the marshmallows off my face and said "Sissy, why do you have to go to college?" I looked at him and gave him the biggest hug I could give.

  2. That is so cute! (The last sentence.) My brother is cute like that too, but he's five.

  3. I think it's wonderful that your entire blog is about family. So many of my students that are your age are beginning to turn away from their family, so it's great to hear (or read) that you are so engaged with yours. Your brother sounds like someone I want to meet! :)

  4. This story was very touching. I found myself realizing how thankful I should be for my siblings. Awesome.
